Angel Food Ministries

I just have to let everyone know about this great ministry and service. With our income at a definite standstill and lots of expenses coming up with mission activities we are watching our pennies pretty closely! Today DD#1 and I picked up our second month of Angel Food boxes. If you are not familiar with this ministry, check out their current menu and then go here, here, or here to find some great recipe ideas to use the items in the food boxes!

For those who are searching for an easy solution to rising food (and everything else!) costs, this is a great option. The food is fairly good quality (I'd rank it up there with Aldi's, which we also frequent) and I've been very happy with the selection of meats to put into our monthly meal plan. It's been a great way for us to get ahead on our food budget with only spending $30 for the box!

DD#1 and I picked up our "regular box" which contained the following:

1.5 lb. Ribeye Steaks (4 x 6 oz.)
3 lb. Split Chicken Breast
1.5 lb. Country Fried Steak Patties (6 x 4 oz)
1 lb. Package 80/20 Ground Beef
1 lb. Fully Cooked Meatballs
1 lb. Mild Italian Sausage
12 oz. Deli Sliced Ham
1 lb. California Blend
1 lb. Green Beans
20 oz. Shoestring Fries
1 lb. Pasta
28 oz. Marinara Sauce
21 oz. Condensed Soup(makes 5 servings)
1 lb. Pinto Beans
32 oz. 2% Shelf Stable Milk
Dozen Eggs
It was a great savings and we're excited to use our finds!
